In the fast-paced oil and gas industry, tracking specific regions is critical for making informed decisions. With Energy Domain DATA’s Area of Interest (AOI) feature, you can precisely define and monitor key geographic areas, staying updated on the activity that matters most.
We designed this feature to help users overcome the challenge of sifting through irrelevant data. By creating an AOI, you’ll focus on the locations that directly impact your operations while receiving timely alerts and updates.
This step-by-step guide will show you how to create and manage your first AOI.
Watch the full tutorial below to see how easy it is to create your first AOI:
"In under two minutes, learn how to create an AOI and start monitoring critical activity in your selected region!"
Begin by zooming into the map to view the wells in your area of interest. This detailed view helps you identify the locations you want to monitor.
Select the drawing tools available in the map toolbar. These tools allow you to outline your AOI with precision, using options like polygon, rectangle, or circle.
Click and drag on the map to draw the boundaries of your area. This ensures you’re focusing on the exact region you want to monitor.
Once your area is outlined, click the "Save AOI" button. This will save your defined area for future reference and monitoring.
Provide a unique name for your AOI. This is especially useful for managing multiple AOIs, allowing you to quickly identify each one.
You can add a buffer distance of up to 5 miles around your AOI. This feature helps you monitor activity not just in your defined region but also in the surrounding areas.
Click the save button to finalize your AOI settings. This action records your preferences for future use.
Navigate to the saved AOIs section to view, edit, or delete your AOIs.
Click on your saved AOI to view and filter it on the map. This makes it easy to access information specific to your selected region.
Here’s why this feature is a must-have for oil and gas professionals:
How many AOIs can I create?
You can create up to 10 AOIs to track and monitor different regions effectively.
Can I edit or delete an AOI after it’s saved?
